We are excited to anounce that our song LIVIN got picked up in a movie called "Carmel by the sea". The film is produced by Santa Cruz local and close friend Craig Comstock and Experience Media Studios CEO Michael-Ryan Fletchall. Carmel-by-the-Sea features an all-star cast led by Academy Award® winner Lauren Bacall, Josh Hutcherson , Alfred Molina , Hayden Panettiere , Dina Eastwood , Billy Boyd , and Alexandra Carl . Carmel-by-the-Sea follows a 15-year-old art prodigy Joshua (Josh Hutcherson), abandoned by his drug-addicted mother in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a small town known internationally for its local art community. He is discovered for his own artistic talent and taken in by two apparently opposite mentors played by Alfred Molina and Lauren Bacall. While being mentored, Joshua is introduced to the high dollar, underground world of art forgery. Joshua’s love interest is played by Hayden Panettiere. Ribsy's Nickel - LIVIN

Well it's been a while since the last blog so here's whats been going on around here these days. We played a Luau party for a great bunch of guys up at Cal Berkely at the Lodge. We had a blast and hope to keep playing up there again. The boys at the Lodge really know how the throw a great party. A couple of nights ago we played in Santa Cruz at the Blue Lagoon with our good friends Machete Fight. The show started out with a band called FUBAR then it was Machete Fight then us. I didn't get to check out the opener but Machete Fight sounded great with there new bass player. We are schedule to play November 5th at the Miramar on the wharf for an Official O'Neil Coldwater Classic party. This is by far the best week to be in Santa Cruz to see professional surfing.

It's been a while since I posted anything but alot has happened since last time. We are done with our cd "Going For Broke" it's out in some stores and online here http://www.cdbaby.com/all/ribsysnickel and we are about to go down south with our good buddies The Expendables. Yesterday we were in North Hollywood at Would Work Sound all day finishing up some last minute adjustments. On other news we just place a big order with Catto's Graphics for some boy beaters,baby t's and some men shirts. They should be ready in a couple of weeks.-Corona

Last night Willz and I went to see a movie premier of a documentary about the Santa Cruz High Basketball team and their coach Pete Newell called Poised. Being former allums and Willz played basketball for Santa Cruz high and coach Newell made it easy to want to be apart of the documentary. Ryan Vaughan the film maker used five Ribsy's Nickel songs in his film. It was a fun night for us and made us proud to be a part of this movie.
